Who we are

ProdExplainer is operated by Conso4s Ltd, Stevenage, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK and EU data protection law we are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy, and a data processor for the content you upload and generate through the platform.

What we collect

We collect only what the service needs to work, bill correctly and stay secure.

• Account data: name, email address, password hash, organisation membership and role.
• Content you provide: screenshots, product images, video clips, scripts, brand assets and any text you type into a project.
• Generated output: the scripts, voice-overs, images and videos the platform produces from your inputs, plus the settings used to produce them.
• Usage data: pages viewed, features used, render volumes, error reports and approximate location derived from IP address.
• Billing data: plan, invoices and payment status. Card details are handled by our payment provider and never stored on our systems.
• Support data: messages you send us by email or WhatsApp.

Why we use it

• To provide the service: generating explainers, storing your projects and delivering finished videos.
• To bill you and prevent payment fraud.
• To keep accounts secure, investigate abuse and meet our legal obligations.
• To support you when you contact us.
• To improve the product through aggregate, non-identifying usage analysis.

Our lawful bases

Performance of a contract, for providing the service you signed up for. Legitimate interests, for security, fraud prevention and product improvement. Legal obligation, for tax and accounting records. Consent, where we ask for it, such as marketing email.

We do not train on your content

Your uploads and generated projects are not used to train our own models, and are not made available to any third party for model training. They are processed to produce the output you asked for, and for nothing else.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of sub-processors to run the service. Each is bound by contract to protect your data and to process it only on our instructions.

• Cloud hosting and object storage for the application and your media files.
• AI model providers for script drafting, image generation and text-to-speech.
• A payment processor for subscriptions and invoices.
• Transactional email delivery for verification codes, password resets and render notifications.
• Error monitoring and product analytics.

International transfers

Some sub-processors operate outside the UK and the EEA. Where that happens we rely on UK International Data Transfer Agreements, EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, together with technical measures such as encryption in transit and at rest.

How long we keep it

• Account data: for as long as your account is open, then up to 90 days after closure.
• Project content and rendered videos: until you delete them, or until your account is closed and the 90-day grace period ends.
• Trial and sample renders: automatically expire and are deleted on the schedule shown in the app.
• Billing records: seven years, as required by tax law.
• Security and access logs: 12 months.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or provide it in a portable format. You can also withdraw consent at any time where we relied on consent.

Write to [email protected] and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local supervisory authority.

Children

The service is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes

We will post any change to this policy on this page and update the date above. Material changes will also be emailed to account holders before they take effect.
